MIHO is a professional Oriental dance performer, well known for her dynamic and elegant dance style based on Turkish bellydance.
MIHO is the first Japanese pupil of Sema Yildiz and one of her mostly trusted assistants. Given the dancer name “Mihiriban” from Sema, MIHO inherits Sema’s Oriental & Roma dance.
After that, MIHO studies with Reyhan Tuzsuz in Turkish Roma dance, with Inako Matsuya in Egyptian bellydance, and with Atsuko in Kathak, Indian traditional dance.
Since 1995, MIHO has been working as one of the pioneers of the professional bellydancers in Japan, and at the same time she has been nurturing many dancers who are working as bellydancers across Japan.
Also, MIHO has studied and practiced other styles of world dance, such as Central Asian, Indian, and Japanese traditional festival dance. In Japan where there are plenty of opportunities to learn and understand other cultures and dances, MIHO has developed her unique World Fusion bellydance that embraces other cultures.
MIHO views dance and music as not only entertainment but also something special to foster zest for living and to celebrate life. MIHO expresses this views in her dance beautifully, that is hightly reputed.
In 2006to 2015 MIHO organized her own dance studio, Studio ritam.
In 2009, MIHO released solo performance DVD “Tales of Mihiriban” which MIHO herself takes charge of producing and art direction.
